Solution-shearing (SS) processed organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) based on core-chlorinated naphthalene diimide semiconductors with electron-withdrawing chlorine substituents and fluorocarbon chains exhibited an electron mobility as high as 0.57 cm2V-1s-1 and good air stability. In addition, the solution-shearing deposition was found to affect the orientation of crystalline thin films and lower the d(001)-spacing of the packing of small molecules, compared to the vapor-deposited thin films.
