E-skin

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and can sense pressure, temperature, and other complex environmental stimuli or conditions. The mimicry of human skin's sensory ability via electronics is a topic of innovative research that could find broad applications in robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-machine interfaces, all of which promote the development of electronic skin (E-skin).
E-skin can also be utilized as wearable electronics, which are commonly used to detect much great amount of information from our body as pulse, respiration, temperature through which continuous health monitoring is possible.

Research Topics
  • 1. Stretchable tactile, pressure, strain, and touch sensing
  • 2. Wearable electronics for Medical, Wellness applications
  • 3. Fabrication and characterization of stretchable polymer materials and nanoelectronics devices
